Audition
An audition is required for all singers 4th – 12th grades. Primary Choir (1st – 3rd grades) may skip this step.
Schedule an Audition – Call 502-896-5859 to schedule an audition. (4th – 12th Grades Only)
Scholarships – Merit Based and Finance Based Available
If you are requesting financial assistance for your singer(s), please submit the following information. If you are not requesting financial assistance, you may skip this step.
- Merit Based Scholarships
- Submit the following items within two weeks of beginning LYC rehearsals.
- Resume
- Recomendation Letters (Two)
- One from a voice/music teacher
- One from a non-family member, familiar with the singer’s music involvement
- Submit the following items within two weeks of beginning LYC rehearsals.
- Finance Based Scholarships
- Submit the following items within two weeks of beginning LYC rehearsals.
- 2015-2016 Scholarship Request Form
- Copy of most recent IRS 1040
- Copy of IRS determination letter OR a letter from school confirming “free lunch” program.
- Submit the following items within two weeks of beginning LYC rehearsals.
Please note, scholarship funds are limited. By submitting the above information, your singer is not guaranteed financial assistance. Previous awards do not guarantee continued support. Applicatble information may be submitted electronically to info@louyouthchoir.org or submitted to the LYC Office at 3105 Lexington Road, Louisville, KY 40206. The LYC office will notify you regarding the amount of funds available to your singer.
Performance Wear Information
Singers in 4th – 12th grades are responsible for obtaining their performance attire. Use the following links for assistance. Singers in Primary Choir (1st – 3rd) grades will have their performance wear supplied by LYC.
